Crescent is intended for a mature audience and is not appropriate for listeners under 17 years of age. Listener discretion is strongly advised.
Some places are far darker than deep space. Places where the shadows smile. Where men go mad and lovers go missing. Where reality is stretched thin and something hungry is waiting just outside the corner of your eye.
Turn out the lights, take a deep breath, and dare to visit one of these places.
Crescent is dark science fiction at it's most visceral. Phil Rossi weaves a tale that is reminiscent of old school Stephen King but with a shiny, new set of tricks and an appetite to terrify. There's sex. There's corruption. There's horror. And after you sweat your way through the first chapter, there's plenty more to keep you awake at night.
Find out why Crescent is one of the fastest growing podcast novel sensations to date.
Crescent has been listed as "What's Hot" on the iTunes Music Store Homepage, a featured iTunes Literature podcast, in iTunes Top 25 Literature Podcasts, in the Podiobooks Top 10, as well as appeared in the Loudoun Times, in On Tap Magazine, on Dragon Page Cover to Cover, Scott Sigler's Bloodcast and more.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 25 Release Date for Mur Lafferty’s Playing for Keeps
Swarm Press is pleased to announce the upcoming release of breakthrough podcaster and author Mur Lafferty’s newest novel of superheroic action Playing for Keeps. Originally a self-released “podiobook,” this new printed version of Lafferty’s novel is due to hit shelves on August 25, 2008.
Playing for Keeps by Mur Lafferty.
Welcome to Seventh City, the birthplace of super powers. The First Wave heroes are jerks, but they have the best gifts: flight, super strength, telepathy, genius, fire. The Third Wavers, like bar-owner Keepsie Branson and her friends, are stuck with the leftovers: the ability to instantly make someone sober, the power to smell the past, absolute control… over elevators. They just aren’t powerful enough to make a difference… at least that’s what they’ve always been told. But when the villain Doodad slips Keepsie a mysterious metal sphere, the Third Wavers become caught in the middle of a battle between egotistical heroes and manipulative villains.
“Playing for Keeps grabbed me and kept me reading straight through when I should have been plotting a new fantasy series for Tor Books. Mur, thank you. Tor, however, does not thank you.” – David Drake, author, Hammer’s Slammers.

Let's rally it up for Sigler, even though he is a little bitch that smells like flowers. Show Scott a little love. I'm not responsible if he tries for a reach around.
I lifted the following from Podiobooks.com.
Crown Publishing is letting Scott Sigler give away the PDF of INFECTED from March 27 through March 31, leading up to the hardcover in-store release on April 1. So download it! Feel free to email the link to anyone you know.
Please do not email the PDF, email the LINK. This is so Scott can prove to Crown the value in giving away content, and if your friends click on the link, that counts on their server stats - emailing the PDF doesn't count on the stats.
Infected is the first major print release from Internet phenom Scott Sigler, whose podcast-only audiobooks have drawn an immense cult following, with more than three million individual episodes downloaded. Now Sigler storms the bookstore shelves with this cinematic, relentlessly paced novel that mixes and matches genres, combining horror, technothriller, and suspense in a heady mix that is equal parts Chuck Palahniuk, Michael Crichton, and Stephen King.
Infected will crawl beneath your skin and leave fresh blood on every page.

The serialization of novels, like the ones Charles Dickens used to do, have gone the way of general interest magazines and polio. When one trend dies, another is usually right on its heels. However, in this case it took a few decades.
With the popularity of television came the decline of periodicals and their seemingly endless number of blank pages that needed filling. Then the Internet popped up and provided writers, both rookie and veteran alike, with all the blank pages they could dream of.
Phil Rossi has not gotten his book “Crescent” published, but thousands of people have already listened to it.

Writer, musician, podcaster, kick ass husband, and father-to-be. A new England native, Phil Rossi is currently a resident of Northern VA. When he is not hunkered down in the studio creating, he can be found either out playing rock music in the DC metro area or frolicking with his seven pets.
