Episode 1: Video Journal
Topic: Various Sundry| No Comments »The first time–it can be painful, yes, but rewarding. No, the video doesn’t end short. Well, technically it does. But you get a nice freeze of an awkard face. Wakka wakka!
Go worship on Matt Wallace. Buy his book or he’ll do terrible things to you.
Crescent Soundtrack Vol. 1
Topic: Various Sundry| 1 Comment »It’s with a great deal of joy and enthusiasm that I’m releasing the first volume of the Crescent Soundtrack today. As many of you know, the soundtrack/score for Crescent was composed by me during the production of the Crescent podcast. Many of the songs were written and recorded in complete parallel to the production of the specific episodes where the tunes were featured. It was a pretty fantastic experiment, if not a little much to chew at times. I figured I was getting so little sleep as it was (thanks to Crescent’s demanding production), why not deprive myself entirely and make Crescent a dual experience?
The Crescent Soundtrack represents a departure from the smoky, dark, and slightly Americana vibe that has been the hallmark of my song writing in recent years. (you can get a taste of those tunes with an upcoming Spring and Summer release, for more info visit PhilRossi.net).
The Crescent Soundtrack will be released in multiple volumes. Volume one is live today and can be purchased from the following spots:

Crescent Soundtrack on Podshow ** Non-US residents–this is your 1st option for purchase. More to follow.
I have also released the first batch of ring tones. Details at can be found at CrescentStation.net
This I can get behind, and so should you

In other news, another good person is gearing up for his first print release. Seth Harwood, author and podcaster of the Jack Palms crime novel series is releasing his first novel through Amazon.com on March 16th. Visit www.sethhardwood.com for details on how you can help him slam those charts.
Productivity 101
Topic: Various Sundry| No Comments »Well. The self-imposed internet exile is really paying off. In addition to three or four new songs written in the past week, the end of the first draft of Harvey is well in sight. I’ve also polished up a new short story and I’m thinking that I just might have to podcast it.
Life on the Interwebs
Topic: Various Sundry| No Comments »Many of you that visit this site got to know me through the Crescent podcast; you became accustomed to a certain level of saturation. I was everywhere. Now there seems to be a period of radio silence. I’m finding it difficult to be consistently present on the interwebs and also maintain an acceptable level of productivity. From a marketing and promotion standpoint, laying low on the digi-web front isn’t the greatest thing, right? Well, what I have an even harder time reconciling is spending more time on promotion than I do on creating new material. Actively pursuing both writing and music don’t leave all that much room on the plate.
That being said; I do have some new things planned for the web.
So stay posted.
Laundry and Creativity Do Not Mix
Topic: Various Sundry| No Comments »Well–it was only five month’s worth of ideas…I’m less distraught than I would’ve imagined. I was probably able to salvage about 65-70% of the pages. I’ll call the other 30% shit and drivel not worth turning into prose.
